I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now.  I will be posting on this blog once a day / once a week for all of 2011.

I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similiar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.

If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.

2010 Hair Care Favorites

30 12 2010

Since this blog is about reinventing oneself, I am choosing not to do new years resolutions.  Those always seem so temporary and I am trying to change permanently.  Instead, today, I’m going to share with you all my favorite hair care products from 2010. Read the rest of this entry »

Introducing Housekeeping

29 12 2010

¡Toc Toc!Ugh I have to clean my apartment.  The very thought makes me want to go back to sleep.  I was never a good housekeeper, but it got worse a few years ago during one of the darker times in my life.  Do you ever have those times in your life when you are so down you just stop doing stuff.  Then one day, you find yourself in a deep hole that you have to dig yourself out of?  Well housekeeping is that for me.  I used to be able to keep up with it so that you could come over if you called me 20 minutes ahead.  I think that is pretty normal for people but for me now, I need at least three days notice of visitors.  My biggest fear is that unexpected knock on the door!

Back to the Gym!!!!

28 12 2010

a way to a healthy lifeThe best advice that I could give to anyone who has stopped going to the gym for any period of time for any reason is this…GO BACK!!!!! I can’t stress this enough as my very own experience reveals.  I went back to the gym with my trainer for the first time tonight after two months. (Woo hoo his calculus class is OVA!)  As always when I go to the gym, I learn something about myself. Read the rest of this entry »

Suave Professionals Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Contitioner

Suave Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner

Suave Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner

I don’t see to many reviews on this product.  It was released at the same time as the Almond Shea line.  I have tried them both and to be honest, I am a Rosemary Mint kind of girl!

First things first, clearly Suave Professionals Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner is not an all natural hair care product.  Now, while I adore all natural hair care products, I don’t subscribe to the theory that if it isn’t natural, then it must be bad for our hair.  Right now, I’m not feeling the push to go all natural as far as my products go. Introducing Fitness!!

26 12 2010

I graduated from college in 2004.  When I look back at the pictures, it reminds me of the bittersweet time it was.  I was the third person in my immediate family to graduate college and I was so happy that after a LONG 24 months, I had finally done it.  But I achieved my goal 4 months after my mother died so she wasn’t there to witness it and I was the heaviest I had ever been in my entire life!  I weighed a whopping 325 lbs!

My Healthy Hair Journey

Day to day hair style with mini twists

I decided that the first thing you should know about me is about my hair.  Vain much? I don’t think so, you’ll get it in a minute…

So I have talked about having a 12 year old girl at home with me.  Well she is natural.  I have never put perm in her hair.  When she was little, I taught my self how to do the Venus Williams type braids in her hair and it worked well for us. She was an easy kid to do hair on, unlike her mother who used to have to get tied to a chair to get her hair combed.  She grew up with long hair down her back.  Once she hit about 9 years old, it just got to be too much for me to manage and I found myself having to make a choice.  Either relax it or figure something else out.
