Introducing Finance! Claiming Financial Independence.

1 01 2011

Money
I’ve been thinking about how I  am going to approach this topic.  After all, financial independence is not a topic that I know a whole lot about.  I have to remind myself that I am not talking about what I have done, but what I am going to do.  And as I have said before, I am claiming it so I better get on it. I’m Posting every day in 2011!

31 12 2010

I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now.  I will be posting on this blog once a day / once a week for all of 2011.

I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similiar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.

If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.

Signed,

Angie

Introducing Housekeeping

29 12 2010

¡Toc Toc!Ugh I have to clean my apartment.  The very thought makes me want to go back to sleep.  I was never a good housekeeper, but it got worse a few years ago during one of the darker times in my life.  Do you ever have those times in your life when you are so down you just stop doing stuff.  Then one day, you find yourself in a deep hole that you have to dig yourself out of?  Well housekeeping is that for me.  I used to be able to keep up with it so that you could come over if you called me 20 minutes ahead.  I think that is pretty normal for people but for me now, I need at least three days notice of visitors.  My biggest fear is that unexpected knock on the door!

Introducing Fitness!!

26 12 2010

I graduated from college in 2004.  When I look back at the pictures, it reminds me of the bittersweet time it was.  I was the third person in my immediate family to graduate college and I was so happy that after a LONG 24 months, I had finally done it.  But I achieved my goal 4 months after my mother died so she wasn’t there to witness it and I was the heaviest I had ever been in my entire life!  I weighed a whopping 325 lbs!

My Healthy Hair Journey

25 12 2010

Day to day hair style with mini twists

I decided that the first thing you should know about me is about my hair.  Vain much? I don’t think so, you’ll get it in a minute…

So I have talked about having a 12 year old girl at home with me.  Well she is natural.  I have never put perm in her hair.  When she was little, I taught my self how to do the Venus Williams type braids in her hair and it worked well for us. She was an easy kid to do hair on, unlike her mother who used to have to get tied to a chair to get her hair combed.  She grew up with long hair down her back.  Once she hit about 9 years old, it just got to be too much for me to manage and I found myself having to make a choice.  Either relax it or figure something else out. Reinvention Ave.

24 12 2010

This is my blog about reinvention and that’s me over there.  I am a 38-year-old single mother of one girl.  While I absolutely adore her and being her mom, she’s 12 and she is growing up and away from me.  I am finding myself on the precipice of not being “Mom” anymore and back to just being Angie.  In no way do I feel bad about that.  I am actually excited again.  You see, before I became Angie the mom, I wasted a lot of time.  I had a lot of big ideas and did nothing with them.  I’m not going to allow that to happen to me again!
